The Strong Mind Program is an outpatient Behavioral health treatment program for persons ages 5 and older. Seniors or adults from ages 55 and older can also choose to participate in our Medicare group program.

Patients who decide to participate in our Medicare group program and are determined eligible will meet with our psychiatrist once every month.

Our services address all levels of psychosocial barriers with the use of the following therapeutic approaches;

  • Group psychotherapy,

  • Individual therapy and

  • Family therapy sessions

Our counseling sessions are led by qualified Clinical Licensed counselors on a daily basis.

We provide transportation to participating clients within 30 miles radius from Kiowa, KS.

Our program is covered by Medicare. Most people who have a Medicare supplement will not have a co-pay. We can accept private insurance and will verify through the hospital prior to admission to report any potential costs to the patient. We also accept referrals from skilled nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, senior nutrition sites, etc. We do not need a doctor’s order to be admitted to Strong Mind Program.

*We also now offer a Telehealth option for those who may need it.*

    When nature attaches us to an environment, we become the product of such environment.  My goal as a counselor is to help my clients understand the impact of their immediate environments to their struggles. I also work with my clients so they can develop skills to overcome emotional and psychological barriers, and to improve their self-esteem. My adult clients will learn about participating in gainful competitive employment in an integrated environment, and its positive effects in gaining or regaining lasting happiness.

    My great passion is to help individuals identify what constitute their immediate environments and how negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors are influenced by certain elements of their unique environments. The goal is to help my clients who consist of children, adults, seniors, and families to identify the sources of their individual barriers and as such, they will be able to make informed choices and decisions towards change.

    I understand that no single approach is right for every individual, as such I am trained in a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Relational Cultural Therapy for the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, and conflicts between couples.

    A graduate of Langston University in Oklahoma, my educational background includes Master of Science in vocational rehabilitation with emphasis on mental, emotional, and physical disabilities, and their impact on behaviors.

When I am not working, I am either listening to music, playing soccer, traveling, or spending time with my family.
